BI Everywhere

Ephraim Schwartz in InfoWorld argues that Sarbanes Oxley has opened the door to BI Everywhere in the corporation. This is probably the trigger mechanism but the reality is that the ground work has been laid for this new reality with great strides made in networking, ETL, digital dashoards/portals, OLAP processing, data warehousin – in short the whole BI ball of wax for the past 20-25 years. And Sarbanes-Oxley is just tipping the ROI trigger that is Cisco President John Chambers essential Comdex speech (RIP Comdex) for the past 5 years – the instant financials for the organization. So Ephraim is right, but there has been plenty of foreshadowing.
